Here are a few products I'm loving at the start of 2015!

 Stila In The Light Eye Palette, on sale $20 Stila 
Stila's In The Light has been my go-to makeup palette this month! It is not new and has been around for awhile. I think that is why it's being phased out on the Stila website. I received this as a Christmas gift, and as someone getting back into makeup, it has been a great starter palette. There is a lovely mix of mattes and shimmer eye shadows, the latter which is fine for day wear when combined with the mattes. It also comes with a booklet showing different looks with the eye shadows. I definitely recommend this palette especially if you are using makeup for the first time or getting back into makeup like I am!


Equate Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, $3.97 Walmart
I picked up this eye makeup remover after watching YouTuber JulieG. mention this as her go-to eye makeup remover. It is affordable and works well removing makeup. I use this makeup remover everyday. Pair this with cotton rounds or squares to remove makeup daily.


Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer, $4.99 & up at various retailers


I received a complimentary deluxe/purse sized sample of Jergens Ultra Healing moisturizer in my Influenster VoxBox several months ago before I started this blog. It came just in time for the winter weather where my hands, especially, tend to get super dry. This lotion was wonderful in healing the cracks in my hands and making them soft and supple. I have tried a lot of lotions but this one seemed to have the staying power without making them feel greasy.


L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray, $16.99 at various drugstores




I have been using the L'Oreal setting spray daily! L'Oreal came out with the Infallible line which is more of a pro makeup line with pro tools. Setting spray is used after all makeup is applied to "set" the makeup and lessen having to do touch ups. I love how this light mist really makes my makeup feel complete and set for the day. This is pricey but with some savvy shopping and coupons, you can get this for a great price!

It's been awhile since I've written anything here. I love to write but am not very good about keeping up with it. I have a few posts that I've been working on that I'd like to get up soon. One of them is about my weight-loss/health journey story. May not be interesting to anyone but me. The reason I'd like to get it up is to have a record of it somewhere. If I was cognizant, I would have kept better records of where I started and where I am today. There are a few things I do remember and things I currently do and other things. Those will be up in a post or two soon. Other posts I'd like to write are reviews of things I've been loving lately, food posts, healthy lifestyle posts, etc. I really do need to exercise my writing skills. Why?

I've been thinking for awhile to get back into blogging even though it doesn't seem like a popular platform anymore with the rise in vlogging (video blogging). But I've never been one to be in front of a camera and opted instead to become a newspaper journalist right out of college. I've also taught high school and college as well as worked my way up but never completed my master's degree in communication studies. Instead I took the path of marriage and motherhood. I've blogged briefly in the past during the pregnancies of both of my sons but gave that up when life took over as it usually does. But now I've got a little time on my hands and decided to head in another direction. I'm a mid-40s (midlife crisis mode) wife and mother and more! This will be more of a lifestyle blog with entries of just about everything and anything (home, cooking, kids, beauty, travel, etc). So here I begin and away we go....

Product Reviews: Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray (Influenster Target VoxBox)

Occasionally, if I'm lucky, I will receive a box from Influenster . If I'm super lucky, I will get a box with a variety of items. If you don't know what Influenster is, it is a website where you can learn about products and even get a few for free to try out and submit a review. There are also other activities you do to earn more free products to review. And who doesn't love something for nothing. You also might get super lucky and receive one of their boxes with a variety of items to try. But I've only been lucky lately from Influenster and received two items from them. One was the Dove Men+Care Extra Fresh Dry Spray Antiperspirant  for my husband to try out and the other was Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray for me to review. In this post, I will only be reviewing the Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray since I have used this product. The Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray comes in a cool and simply decorated canister. The fragrance is called "cool essentials.
