First Impression - L'Oreal Balm and Eye Shadow



Picked up a couple of items from CVS yesterday. The first is L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in 218 Rose Elixir. I'm obsessed with lip products right now. I wasn't sure if this was a lipstick or just a balm. I know it sounds crazy but it looks more like a lipstick and packaged nicely like a lipstick. But it really is a lip balm. My first impression is it feels great on my lips with a hint of color and shine. This is a good everyday type of lip product and not over the top.

The second item is L'Oreal Eye Shadow in 888 Iced Shadow. I've been eyeing this eye shadow for awhile just because it is just so beautiful and would make a good base on the lid. It is described as being 24 hour, crease resistant, smudgeproof and water resistant. I have it on today and it is very light but sparkly. So far I like it but it may be too light for even my fair skin.

Each of the items were $8.79 ea but I had a $1 off each coupon plus save $4 off $12 cosmetic purchase and $5 in extra bucks. Grand total for the two items was $6.58 plus 7% tax = $7.04.

It's been awhile since I've written anything here. I love to write but am not very good about keeping up with it. I have a few posts that I've been working on that I'd like to get up soon. Why?

I've been thinking for awhile to get back into blogging even though it doesn't seem like a popular platform anymore with the rise in vlogging (video blogging). But I've never been one to be in front of a camera and opted instead to become a newspaper journalist right out of college. I've also taught high school and college as well as worked my way up but never completed my master's degree in communication studies. Instead I took the path of marriage and motherhood. I've blogged briefly in the past during the pregnancies of both of my sons but gave that up when life took over as it usually does. But now I've got a little time on my hands and decided to head in another direction. I'm a mid-40s (midlife crisis mode) wife and mother and more! This will be more of a lifestyle blog with entries of just about everything and anything (home, cooking, kids, beauty, travel, etc). So here I begin and away we go....

Product Reviews: Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray (Influenster Target VoxBox)

Occasionally, if I'm lucky, I will receive a box from Influenster . If I'm super lucky, I will get a box with a variety of items. If you don't know what Influenster is, it is a website where you can learn about products and even get a few for free to try out and submit a review. There are also other activities you do to earn more free products to review. And who doesn't love something for nothing. You also might get super lucky and receive one of their boxes with a variety of items to try. But I've only been lucky lately from Influenster and received two items from them. One was the Dove Men+Care Extra Fresh Dry Spray Antiperspirant  for my husband to try out and the other was Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray for me to review. In this post, I will only be reviewing the Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray since I have used this product. The Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray comes in a cool and simply decorated canister. The fragrance is called "cool essentials.
