Beauty Box (non) Subscription: March 2016 Target Vacay Vibes Beauty Box

Target seems to be coming out with these beauty boxes every other month or so now. There were two in January and now another one this month. I'm not complaining but I wish Target would just come up with a subscription so that we wouldn't all have to fight to get one of these.

To be honest, this wasn't the greatest box but for the price of $5, it wasn't all that bad. I really wanted the box for a couple of items. The theme of the box was Vacay Vibes, so all the items were related to products you might need on vacation!

(Bottom Row L-R: SinfulColors Professional Nail Color, you are AMAZING Juicy Grapefruit Body Lotion and Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. Top Row L-R: Not Your Mother's Texturizing Sea Salt Spray, Caress Adore Forever Body Wash, Banana Boat Sun Comfort SPF 30 Lotion and Hair Food Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner)

I'll start off by saying I wasn't very happy with the Caress body wash. It seems like this is in every sample box I get. This scent is called Adore Forever. Personally it doesn't remind me of vacation or spring time. The bottle is 1.8 fl oz and worth about .53 cents of product. A full-size bottle retails for about $3.99 at Target.

The next item was a sample packet of Hair Food Shampoo and Conditioner. I would have loved a nice deluxe sample of these products but I was still happy to have these samples. These would be great to tuck into a getaway bag to use on vacation! If you want to purchase these products, they each cost $9.99 at Target. I did not calculate a cost for the sample as it was a sample and generally are free.

There was a full size Sinful Colors nail polish in the color Poisonberry 1700. This particular color is not listed on the Target website, so I don't know if it was a discontinued color or not. But it would be a nice nail polish for your toes wearing flip flops on the beach! The retail value of this nail polish is $2.02.

Also included was a Banana Boat SunComfort SPF 30 lotion. Target does not have the actual lotion of this product but the spray. I calculated this deluxe sample based on the spray and it has value of $1.24. The full-size Banana Boat SunComfort Spray is $7.49. This sunscreen states it is water-resistant for 80 minutes and lightweight. This is nice to toss in your bag when you're on the way to the beach or other outdoor activities.

The last few products were the ones I was most excited about. The first was the Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Spray. This was a very nice sized sample at 2 fl. oz with the full-size at 8 fl. oz. However, Target did not have this available for purchase online nor did they have a price listed for the full-size product. However at a similar big box store, this item was about $4.75. This sample was about $1.19. This spray is infused with sea salt and sea kelp. Get ready for the beachy summer hair!

The next item I was excited about was the you are AMAZING juicy grapefruit body lotion. This smelled so fresh and lightly fruity. This is summer in a lotion! It is paraben-free, phthalate-free and not not tested on animals. The full-size product retails for $3.99 and is 8 fl oz. This sample is only 1 fl oz and worth about .50 cents.

The last product and the one I was most excited about was the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask! This deluxe sample is 20 ml while the full-size is 70 ml. I thought it was a good size for a deluxe sample. The full-size product retails for $24 at Target and this sample was $6.86! I'm excited to try out this sample! Laneige products tend to be really good but have high end prices for drugstore items, at least in my opinion.

Oops! I totally forgot and did not put it in the picture above but I also received one sample of the Nugg Deep Hydration Facial Mask Treatment in my box. There are several different kinds but I got the anti-aging mask. Excited to try this out too! The full-size box contains 5 masks for $16.45. The sample I got was worth $3.29!

Overall, this box was a super value just in terms of the items I was excited to try. The box worth was $15.63 in terms of the samples (excluding the shampoo packets), so for $5 it was a super deal! Unfortunately the box is no longer available. The only way to score one of these boxes is to join FB makeup subscription box groups or some other beauty blogger/vlogger to find out when these boxes hit the market.
