Beauty Box (non) Subscription: May 2016 Target Beauty Box (Spring Fling)

Target has been coming out with a beauty box every month so far this year. This is great but what would be greater is if they just offered a subscription! Sadly, if you want this box, you need to be on your toes. Stalk beauty forums or in my case, get lucky enough to find an email in my inbox from Target letting me know their new beauty box was available!

The May 2016 Target Beauty Box was themed Spring Fling and sold out pretty quickly! The link I provided is just to let you see the page and the products included in the box. This was one of the better beauty boxes at least for me. It cost a little more than some of the boxes they offered earlier this year but many of the items seemed higher end in price, so having a deluxe size sample before spending the money on purchasing a full-size product is helpful.

This month's box cost $10 but the overall value I calculated came out to $40.15. Here are the products included:

The first sample was Hair Food Dry Shampoo infused with Kiwi Fragrance which was actually a travel size product! It retails for $4.99 and this is the full-size travel size product. The next product was the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. This sample was about .42 cents for .5 FL OZ. The full-size product cost $9.99 for 12 FL OZ. The Andalou Age Defying Night Repair Cream was .4 FL OZ and worth $3.99. The full-size is only 2 oz and cost $19.99.

The L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Towelette was one towel and worth about $1.30. The full-size has 6 towels for $7.79. The Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream was really only a sample packet and I didn't calculate any worth for this because it really was a sample packet you could get in a magazine. The full-size product is 2 oz and cost $24.

The last few items in the box included a Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream. The value of this deluxe sample was $12.80 for 20 ml. The full size is 50 ml for $32. Burt Bees came out with a Facial Cleansing Oil. The sample was 1 FL OZ and worth $2.66. The full size is 6 FL OZ and $15.99. There was also a Derma e Firming DMAE-Moisturizer. This was a $5.00 deluxe sample at .4 FL OZ. The full-size is 2 FL OZ for $19.99.

The very last item was a L'Oreal Colour Riche Lip Pen. This was a full-size item in the color 100 Matte For Me. It retails for $8.99 which is almost the whole cost of the box. Unfortunately this color was not really me. Maybe it's my age but it was a little bright. I may try and wear it for my husband to see what he says. It is always nice to get at least one full-size item in the box. I believe this comes in a couple of other shades so if I like the formula, I may try one of the other ones.

Overall, this box was a great value and I really loved many of the items. This time around there was a lot of skin care items, which I am looking forward to trying. You can find all these items in Target.
