February/March Faves!

April is already here. What happened? I have no idea. It seems like February whizzed on by and then March seemed to march quickly by, and now we are in the first weeks of April. Here are some faves from February and March:

e.l.f. Kabuki Face Brush, $10 (Target, Walmart and online)

No doubt the e.l.f. Studio brushes are one of the most affordable and best brushes out there in my opinion! I purchased this at the end of January and have used it almost daily to brush powder on my face after applying my foundation. I found no fallout of bristles and it was soft on my face. For the price, it really can't be beat!


MUA Pro Angled Shadow Brush, $10 CVS
As I continue to learn more about makeup and trying out different techniques, I find I need additional tools. I knew I needed an angled shadow brush to apply shadow on my lower lash line. I picked this MUA Pro Angled Shadow Brush from CVS when it was on sale. Even not on sale, it is reasonably priced considering how much makeup brushes cost.


Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster & Restoration Serum, Retails $48
I received this serum in a Boxycharm subscription box in October 2014. I just recently started using this almost daily in the evening after I take off all my makeup and wash my face. I noticed how it tightens my skin but doesn't make it feel dry or tight. I also follow with a light moisturizer after letting the serum soak into my skin.


L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation & Powder, Approx. $12.99 ea, various stores


This foundation and powder has become my go-to every day! I love how light the foundation applies and how the powder finishes the foundation. The foundation does not feel heavy on my face and it almost feels like I am not wearing any foundation. The powder adds a smooth finishing to the foundation. Both items are a bit pricy for drugstore makeup but with coupons, you can get these items for just a few dollars.

It's been awhile since I've written anything here. I love to write but am not very good about keeping up with it. I have a few posts that I've been working on that I'd like to get up soon. Why?

I've been thinking for awhile to get back into blogging even though it doesn't seem like a popular platform anymore with the rise in vlogging (video blogging). But I've never been one to be in front of a camera and opted instead to become a newspaper journalist right out of college. I've also taught high school and college as well as worked my way up but never completed my master's degree in communication studies. Instead I took the path of marriage and motherhood. I've blogged briefly in the past during the pregnancies of both of my sons but gave that up when life took over as it usually does. But now I've got a little time on my hands and decided to head in another direction. I'm a mid-40s (midlife crisis mode) wife and mother and more! This will be more of a lifestyle blog with entries of just about everything and anything (home, cooking, kids, beauty, travel, etc). So here I begin and away we go....

Product Reviews: Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray (Influenster Target VoxBox)

Occasionally, if I'm lucky, I will receive a box from Influenster . If I'm super lucky, I will get a box with a variety of items. If you don't know what Influenster is, it is a website where you can learn about products and even get a few for free to try out and submit a review. There are also other activities you do to earn more free products to review. And who doesn't love something for nothing. You also might get super lucky and receive one of their boxes with a variety of items to try. But I've only been lucky lately from Influenster and received two items from them. One was the Dove Men+Care Extra Fresh Dry Spray Antiperspirant  for my husband to try out and the other was Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray for me to review. In this post, I will only be reviewing the Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray since I have used this product. The Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray comes in a cool and simply decorated canister. The fragrance is called "cool essentials.
